Foundation Paper Piecing Patterns & Supplies

Foundation paper piecing is the machine-sewn cousin of English paper piecing: stitch fabric directly onto a printed paper foundation, tear the paper away, and you get needle-sharp points that are almost impossible to cut freehand — feathered stars, skinny slivers, tiny wonky angles.

Below are the FPP patterns and the pads of pre-printed foundations that go with them. Scrappy Mountains and Ancient Radiation are good first projects, Graffiti Quilt and Lucid go bolder, and A Flock of Feathered Stars is the deep end. The foundation paper-piecing pads — triangles, scrappy stars, half-rectangle triangles — save printing and tear away cleanly.
