Holiday Fabric by the Yard

Every season of the year brings new holidays to celebrate with family and friends–reasons to gather, share meals, tell stories, and create memories together. Some of you love to decorate your homes for holidays. Imagine making a table runner for each season or holiday. Or a wall hanging. Or throw pillows for your sofa. A not-too-big project that will add warmth and a festive touch to your decor.

Let’s start our year full of projects in June–half a year from December–and suppose that you have decided to make a table runner. Both Hanukkah and Christmas are holidays that celebrate lights, so it is easy to imagine either a menorah or Advent wreath placed upon a table runner. The Lots O’ Luck Runner was designed in shades of green for St. Patrick’s Day, but it would certainly pull double duty for Christmas. Now imagine it in shades of blue for Hanukkah. Wouldn’t it be stunning? You may prefer the Rhombus Garden Runner done up in Christmas fabric or Hanukkah fabric. Watch Natalie’s demonstration of the Rhombus Garden Runner in this Triple Play.

Missouri Star carries both Hanukkah fabric and Christmas fabric by the yard. We have Hanukkah and Christmas fabric collections that include precuts. Christmas fabric panels are popular. And, in addition to Christmas fabric fat quarters, we have fat quarter bundles for Hanukkah and many other popular holidays.

In August it is time to work on your Valentine’s project because February is half a year away! How about the Hearts and Kisses Quilt? It has a bonus pattern for a table runner. Or you might opt for an adaptation of this pattern, the Hearts and Kisses Table Topper; Misty demonstrates it in this episode of At Home with Misty. Missouri Star has Valentine's Day fabric and Valentine's Day fabric panels for any sweet project you choose to celebrate this honey of a day!

September has arrived in a snap; it’s time to plan for March. Did you make a green Lots O’ Luck Runner in December? If so, you are good to go. If not, maybe now is the time to make it. Or you could make the runner in any springtime color or precut fabric bundle that tickles your fancy!

As you move into October and the air gets chilly, it is time to think of Passover, Easter, and the warming days of springtime–at least when planning your sewing project! May we suggest the Twirly Tulips Table Runner or the Tulip Time Table Runner? Each of these has a tutorial you can view. At Missouri Star, you will find lovely floral prints, garden themes, and Easter fabric–including Easter fabric panels. No matter the project patterns or Easter fabric by the yard you are looking for, we strive to bring you an excellent selection.

In December, January, and February, it is time to plan for the long, hot days of summer. Do you want table toppers for your summer cook-outs? We offer fabric with summertime and backyard barbeque themes. Do you want to show your patriotic spirit? We have patriotic fabric! Do you want special table runners for your Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day celebrations? We have holiday fabric by the yard and holiday fabric precuts for you.

In March and April it is time to plan for autumn, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Missouri Star has a large selection of Halloween fabric–including Halloween fabric panels. You may enjoy this Candy Corn Runner. It uses Halloween fabric by the yard! Well, not really. Just black, white, orange, and yellow solid yardage to make the iconic Halloween treat. If you want to make something with an autumn theme, consider the Leafy Tree Tops Runner. Misty demonstrates it here. This pattern is highly customizable; it could be used to make a runner, throw pillow, or wall hanging. And you have all sorts of freedom about the color palette you choose for the leaves in the pattern.

In May, take a sewing break! Plan your projects for the upcoming year. Will you add a few more sewing salutes to the holidays? If so, be assured that Missouri Star will have a whole new batch of holiday fabric and patterns for you to peruse!
