A Chance of Flurries Free Quilt Pattern by Natalie Crabtree
A Chance of Flurries sets fussy-cut Snow Day prints among pieced stars in a square quilt measuring 70.5 inches on each side. Natalie Crabtree combines two center-block colorways with whole, half and quarter star blocks, arranging them diagonally with sashing and cornerstones. Three borders finish the setting. This beginner project pairs Snow Day with Diamond Dust fabrics by Whistler Studios, and its cutting directions preserve the orientation of the featured prints in the diagonal layout.

A Chance of Flurries Free Quilt Pattern by Natalie Crabtree quilt pattern summary
- Fussy cut the large print squares on point. Make and trim the half-square triangles, then arrange them around the centers to piece both Block A colorways.
- Use stitch-and-flip corners to make the star points, then add the pieced corner units and center squares. Assemble the whole, half and quarter Block B units for the diagonal setting.
- Join the diagonal block rows with sashing and cornerstones, keeping the prints oriented as shown. Trim the setting edges and add the three borders using measurements from the assembled top.
- Layer the top with batting and backing, baste, and quilt as desired. Finish with the Fabric I binding strips.
