American Retro c. 1945 arranges five basket blocks on point in a 45-inch-square quilt. Erin Witt's intermediate-level design uses green lemon prints and white rose florals for the baskets, with blue, pink and yellow dotted backgrounds. Blue cherry-print sashing and yellow cornerstones join the blocks, and red lattice triangles fill the setting. Four borders surround the center, including a pieced rectangle border between the narrower fabric borders.

- Cut the basket, background, sashing and setting pieces. Sew the basket triangles and small half-square-triangle units, then combine them with the background pieces to assemble the five basket blocks.
- Add the blue sashing and yellow cornerstones, and arrange the blocks with the red lattice setting triangles. Join the diagonal sections to complete the quilt center.
- Attach the first two borders, piece and add the rectangle border, then attach the final red border. Layer the top, backing and batting, quilt and bind.
