Balls in the Air Free Quilt Pattern by Lucy A. Fazely
Balls in the Air alternates two blocks made from paired print pieces, with background squares sewn across their corners. One block begins with triangles, while the other begins with rectangles, creating different center seams within the shared outline. Lucy A. Fazely designed the advanced-beginner quilt for Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics. It finishes at 69 by 86 inches, using eighty blocks with sashing and a narrow border. Cool and Hot fabric plans are available for the same construction.

- Arrange the blocks in ten rows, checking the center-seam direction. Sew the blocks and sashing into rows, join the rows and add the narrow border.
- Join the binding strips, layer and baste the quilt, then quilt as desired. Trim the layers and finish the binding on the back.
