Description:

Butterfly's Bliss is a 71-inch-square quilt designed by Bethany Fuller with Anna Griffin's Cecile collection. The blocks combine half-square triangles, TRI-RECS shapes and square-in-a-square centers, then alternate with plain squares in an on-point arrangement. The pattern makes twenty-seven blocks so that twenty-five can be selected for the final color placement. Striped setting triangles and paired inner and outer borders frame the quilt, with the border corners mitered together.

Butterfly's Bliss Free Quilt Pattern by Bethany Fuller quilt pattern summary

  1. Cut the border, setting and block pieces, preserving the stripe direction where specified. Piece the half-square triangles, join RECS shapes to the TRI shapes, and make the square-in-a-square centers.
  2. Join the sections into twenty-seven blocks and select twenty-five for the quilt. Arrange them on point with alternate squares and setting triangles, checking the stripe directions before sewing the rows.
  3. Sew each inner border strip to its matching outer border strip. Attach the paired borders with mitered corners using your preferred method, then quilt and bind.
