Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Chain Link pairs Gemstone fabrics in blocks that repeat with their colors reversed. Lisa Swenson Ruble designed the 45 x 60 inch quilt around six fabric pairings, making a regular and reversed block from each combination. Squares, rectangles and narrow strips build each block before the twelve blocks are arranged in four rows. The quilt top has no separate outer border, and the Garnet fabric provides its finishing binding.

Chain Link Free Quilt Pattern by Lisa Swenson Ruble quilt pattern summary

  1. Cut the squares, rectangles and strips for each fabric pairing, keeping the two colors of every pair organized together. Set the Garnet binding strips aside.
  2. Join the small squares and rectangles into the block-center rows, add the separating strips, then frame the center to complete the first block.
  3. Make a matching block with the colors reversed, then repeat for the other five pairings. Arrange the twelve blocks into four rows of three and join the rows.
  4. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing, baste and quilt as desired, then bind with the Garnet strips.
