Cherry on Top combines pieced sunburst centers with appliqued ice cream scoops and cherries. Ebony Love designed the 65 1/2-inch square quilt using Sweet Treats fabrics by Maria Carluccio. Sixteen blocks sit in four rows with narrow striped sashing and small contrasting cornerstones. Template-shaped pieces form the cones within each block, while the four surrounding scoops use different fabrics in a repeated arrangement. Striped binding completes the quilt.

- Cut the fabric pieces and prepare the sunburst templates. Trace the scoop and cherry shapes onto fusible web, fuse them to their fabrics and cut out the shapes.
- Piece the sunburst quarters, join four into a center and add the surrounding rectangles and corner squares. Fuse the scoops and cherries into the illustrated positions and stitch around their edges.
- Join the blocks into four rows with striped sashing between them. Add the horizontal sashing rows and cornerstones, following the quilt layout.
- Layer and quilt as desired. Join and press the binding strips, then bind the quilt.
