Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Columns of Roses alternates square-in-a-square blocks with long strips of rose-print fabric in a 66½-by-73-inch quilt. Carolyn Goins' design features damask, stripes and florals from the Flannel Rose collection by Rosemarie Lavin. Twenty-four blocks are arranged four across and six down, with cream damask and cream stripe backgrounds alternating through the columns. Three fussy-cut rose strips separate the patchwork columns, and a large floral border and brown damask binding surround the quilt.

Columns of Roses Free Quilt Pattern by Carolyn Goins quilt pattern summary

  1. Cut the triangles, fussy-cut column strips, border strips and binding. Sew the print triangles around each center square, then add the background triangles to complete twenty-four square-in-a-square blocks.
  2. Alternate the background fabrics and sew the blocks into four columns of six. Join the rose-print strips, matching their printed pattern, and sew them between the block columns.
  3. Add the floral side borders, then the top and bottom borders. Baste the top, batting and backing together, quilt as desired and finish with the brown damask binding.
