Costume Party Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day
Costume Party frames a Cat Costumes panel with coordinating strips and a border of individually fussy-cut costumed cats. The small motifs are cut on the bias and set between triangles, with separate corner units keeping the figures upright. Stacey Day designed this intermediate quilt using Costumes and Cobwebs by Club Hauer. The finished quilt measures 57 by 61 1/2 inches, and its panel preparation includes a specified adjustment when the printed panel is shorter than expected.

Costume Party Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day quilt pattern summary
- Print and check the bias-square template, then fussy cut and label the costumed-cat motifs. Trim the panel and follow the stated strip adjustment if its height is short.
- Piece the corner units and the triangle-framed motif units, taking care with their bias edges. Join them into the top, bottom and side borders with the cats right-reading.
- Add the horizontal strips around the panel to form the quilt center. Attach the remaining border rounds in order, matching their centers and maintaining the motif directions.
- Prepare the binding and layer, baste and quilt the top. Trim the backing and batting and finish the binding by hand or machine.
