Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Criss Cross Applesauce alternates two pieced block designs in a 66 inch square quilt. Natalie Crabtree designed the project with Penelope by Annabel Wrigley, combining larger print rectangles with smaller framed corner units. Each block design appears in two fabric combinations, and white sashing separates the blocks throughout the top. Small Coral cornerstones mark the intersections of the sashing rows, while the Blue print supplies the binding around the finished quilt.

Criss Cross Applesauce Free Quilt Pattern by Natalie Crabtree quilt pattern summary

  1. Cut and label the rectangles, squares and sashing pieces. Mark diagonal guides on the small background squares before starting the corner units.
  2. Sew background squares onto opposite corners of the larger squares, then trim and press. Combine these units with the print rectangles to form both colorways of Block A.
  3. Frame the second group of corner units with narrow rectangles. Combine them with the center squares and background rectangles to complete the two colorways of Block B.
  4. Make the horizontal sashing rows with their Coral cornerstones, then arrange and sew the five block rows with vertical sashing. Join the rows, layer and quilt the sandwich, and bind with Fabric F.
