Dappled Pines Free Quilt Pattern by Kerri Thomson
Dappled Pines forms trees from small half-square triangles, arranged with contrasting squares and pieced trunk sections. Four matching pine blocks surround a center pine, while four types of background units complete the diagonal setting. The eight-at-a-time triangle method supplies both the branches and the scrappy background. Kerri Thomson designed this advanced-beginner project using Palette Green by Tim Holtz. Its stated finished size is 67 3/8 by 84 3/8 inches, with separate diagrams for each construction stage.
