Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Desert Picnic arranges fussy-cut print squares and small half-square triangles in three patchwork rows. Marsha Evans Moore designed the 52 x 58.75 inch quilt with the Wanderer's Weekend collection. Printed sashing bands separate the patchwork, and narrow framing strips lead into an outer border cut to center the teepee print. Larger setting triangles complete the ends of the rows, while small corner squares punctuate the inner border.

Desert Picnic Free Quilt Pattern by Marsha Evans Moore quilt pattern summary

  1. Prepare the templates and fussy-cut the featured print squares. Cut the large, medium and small triangles, plus the sashing and border pieces, keeping each fabric group labeled.
  2. Sew the small contrasting triangles into half-square-triangle units and arrange them around the larger print squares. Add the setting triangles to complete the three patchwork rows.
  3. Join the patchwork rows with the printed sashing bands and narrow strips. Add the inner border with its corner squares, then the outer border with the centered teepee print.
  4. Layer the top, batting and backing, baste and quilt as desired, then join the binding strips and bind the edges.
