A large focus-fabric square forms the center, surrounded by two rows of angled stripe pieces that are assembled together. The stripes are printed on the bias, allowing the pieces to be cut on the straight grain. Set-in seams and mitered corners shape the center, while successive borders and directional stripe cornerstones complete the design.

- Cut the focus square, stripe pieces and borders, keeping the border cuts on the lengthwise grain. Sort the pink stripe pieces by direction and trim the angled ends; repeat with the green stripes.
- Mark the specified seam endpoints and pair the pink and green stripe pieces. Check their directions, then add the squares between the stripe sets using set-in seams.
- Attach the assembled sides to the center square and miter the corners. Add the corner triangles, then measure the center and attach the borders in order with the directional cornerstones.
- Layer the top, batting and backing, quilt, and trim. Join and fold the binding, attach it, then blind-stitch it to the back and add a label.
