Floral Painting Free Quilt Pattern by Diane Nagle
Floral Painting combines five Varied Goose blocks with four Churn Dash blocks in a 60-inch-square quilt. The Varied Goose design includes half-square triangles, small nine-patch units and pieced strips, while the Churn Dash blocks frame larger fabric squares. The three-by-three center is surrounded by two narrow borders and an outer border made from flying geese. Blue-green and pink-yellow fabric versions share the construction, with separate fabric substitutions and cutting directions for the two colorways.

- Choose the blue-green or pink-yellow version and cut its fabrics, following the colorway-specific substitutions. Piece the half-square triangles, nine-patch units and strip units.
- Assemble five Varied Goose blocks and four Churn Dash blocks. Alternate them in three rows of three and join the rows.
- Attach the two narrow borders and piece the flying geese outer border with its corner units. Add the border, then layer, quilt and bind.
