Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Fragrant Flowers uses varying strip widths and carefully ordered fabric sequences to create a bargello-style wave across a 71.25 by 79.5 inch quilt. Natalie Crabtree designed this intermediate project with Briarwood fabrics by Whistler Studios. The center is assembled from twenty-eight labeled vertical rows, with background rectangles extending the fabric sequences to different heights. Three borders frame the finished arrangement, carrying fabrics from the pieced center out to the edges.

Fragrant Flowers Free Quilt Pattern by Natalie Crabtree quilt pattern summary

  1. Cut and label the fabrics by row. Sew the two strip-set arrangements, pressing their seams in opposite directions so adjoining units can nest.
  2. Subcut the strip sets to the specified widths and unsew the designated end pieces. Add the individual rectangles to build each of the twenty-eight labeled rows.
  3. Join the rows in numerical order from left to right, matching the seams. Add the inner, middle and outer borders in sequence.
  4. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top, baste, and quilt as desired. Prepare and attach the Fabric D binding.
