Holiday Forest Free Quilt Pattern by Wendy Sheppard
Holiday Forest is a 66-by-72-inch quilt designed by Wendy Sheppard with the Storybook Christmas collection. Four-patch Snowball blocks form the center, using assorted holiday prints with white corner triangles. Small and large pieced trees appear in a surrounding border, separated by white background sections. The tree blocks combine triangular branches with small red trunks, and their orientations change around the quilt. Narrow white and blue floral borders separate the sections before a wider focal-print border completes the outside.

Holiday Forest Free Quilt Pattern by Wendy Sheppard quilt pattern summary
- Cut the print squares, white corner squares, tree pieces and border strips, then sew four-patch centers and add diagonal white corners to make the Snowball blocks.
- Piece the small and large trees from their branch units, background rectangles and trunk pieces, following the separate block diagrams.
- Join the Snowball blocks into the center rows, attach the first borders, and assemble the tree borders with their white background sections.
- Add the remaining narrow and outer borders, layer with batting and backing, baste, quilt as desired and bind.
