Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Hope, Strength, Love pairs pinwheel blocks with pieced letters spelling HOPE in a 61½-inch square quilt. Designed by Wendy Sheppard for the Patches of Hope collection by Whistler Studios, this intermediate project uses flying geese to build the pinwheels and rectangles with corner triangles to form the lettering. Sashing separates the block rows, while cornerstones and three successive borders frame the center. The pattern includes individual construction directions for each letter.

  3. Piece the H, O, P and E blocks using the separate rectangle and corner-triangle sequences. Add the surrounding background strips as shown for each letter.
  4. Join the pinwheel and letter blocks into four rows with sashing. Add the sashing rows, then the two inner borders and outer border.
