Huevos Rancheros Free Quilt Pattern by Lily Gonzales-Creed quilt pattern summary
- For the fifty-by-sixty-inch version, cut the egg-print and houndstooth center squares and the numbered yellow, gray and white strips. Keep the two color groups separate for assembly.
- Sew the numbered pieces around each center in order to form the log cabin blocks. Chain-piece the yellow group and gray group separately until the thirty blocks are complete.
- Arrange the blocks according to the quilt layout, then join them into rows and sew the rows together. Use the additional block-count guidelines when planning one of the larger listed sizes.
- Piece the backing, layer and baste the quilt, then quilt as desired. Prepare and attach the binding to finish the edge.
