- Cut and label each fabric group by its assigned block, keeping the pieces for the different stars and borders separate.
- Piece the Variable Star blocks and the five additional star designs, using the individual block diagrams to position their triangles and squares.
- Arrange the nine blocks in a three-by-three center and join the rows. Add the large pieced star border, then the three strip borders.
- Layer the quilt top with batting and backing. Quilt as desired, then join the binding strips and bind the quilt.
