Jelly Roll Bowl Cozy Template for The Gypsy Quilter

This template makes it so simple and stress free to make a bowl cozy. I can either cut the corners rounded or leave them pointy if I want. It is super easy to mark and make, it just about does all the work for you. I had a paper template before and it really wasn’t reliable; it was more of a ‘guideline’ since the paper would move and distort. I wish there would be a way to mark the top that would fit the batting right . I seem to always need to cut off some of the fabric to fit the batting. Can’t wait until those batting bowl cozies go on sale again. I’ll need to buy more. Also when is Kona bolts going on sale again. Thanks Burd Kerchner

I bought all the supplies and template to my ladies quilters group for hopes of getting help. But, I was surprised that I didn't need it. I was able to complete one bowl and materials for a second one. The group of seasoned quilters were very impressed with the design and liked it better than ones they had made. The instructions were really very easy to follow for me. I had never followed anything with instructions before. I can't wait to make more!

Works great. I’ve made about 50 using up scrap fabric.. I am making these for Christmas gifts at our annual cousins get together. I stack up my fabric and quickly cut out 10.5” squares; then, place template on a stack of cut fabric to mark for completing the pattern for cutting/sewing. Same process for batting.

Made the cozies before without it, but this was perfect! I always forget how deep the darts are, this took the guess work out--making the process faster and easier. They turned out perfect!

I used this and made 3 different sizes as a gift. They are being used constantly and they asked if I could make one for a casserole dish.

As I was using this template, I realized I can use the same pattern to make a pan cozy. I leave them flat. They fit under my cast iron pans, ceramic casserole pans, and bowls to keep them from scratching when stored.

I got this on sale so the lightweight nature of the template was okay. I'm guessing here that it is about 16th of an inch thick. The dimensions are about 10" square
