Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Mary’s Baltimore combines five fussy-cut panel motifs with a diamond border and rows of small half-square triangles. One framed motif anchors the center, while the other four join pieced triangle units toward the corners. Red, green, yellow and blue prints create the patchwork against cream fabric, with blue and brown ombre borders finishing the 65 inch square quilt. Fat quarters provide the assorted prints, with fat eighths offered for a scrappier version.

Mary's Baltimore Free Quilt Pattern by Mary Koval & Theresa Leppert quilt pattern summary

  1. Fussy-cut the five panel motifs and frame each with narrow cream strips, mitering the corners.
  2. Border the center motif, piece the diamond borders with their Square-in-a-Square corner blocks, and add the yellow border.
  3. Make the half-square triangle units and arrange them into the first pieced triangle sections around the center, followed by the plain floral border.
  4. Build the remaining triangle units, join them to the four framed motifs, and attach these sections before adding the mitered outer borders.
  5. Layer and baste, quilt around the patches and printed motifs, then attach and finish the folded binding.
