Messenger Bag Free Pattern by Whistler Studios quilt pattern summary
- Cut the outside, lining, flap, strap and pocket pieces, using the corner template to round the indicated edges. Fuse batting to the outside pieces and prepare the bias-covered piping.
- Join the outer flap to the bag, add piping and install the magnetic closure. Make the D-ring loops and sew the bottom and outside panels together.
- Sew the inside pocket and divide it into three sections. Assemble the lining and underflap, leaving a turning opening, then sew the shoulder strap and padded shoulder piece.
- Join the lining and outside, turn and close the opening. Edgestitch the flap and bag opening, slide the shoulder pad onto the strap and secure the strap ends through the D-rings.
