Microchip Free Quilt Pattern by Billy Reue
Microchip organizes Mosaic prints into nineteen pieced sections that connect across a 96-inch square quilt. Rectangles, squares, and template-cut shapes form the individual sections, with stitch-and-flip corners shaping selected pieces. The intermediate design includes directions for controlling the placement of the ombré fabric across neighboring sections. A mitered outer border surrounds the assembled center, and the cutting list identifies the destination section for many pieces to help organize the construction.

Microchip Free Quilt Pattern by Billy Reue quilt pattern summary
- Print and check the three templates, then cut and label the pieces by fabric and section. Follow the lengthwise and widthwise cutting directions for striped and ombré fabrics.
- Build the nineteen sections using the individual diagrams. Sew the rectangular units, add stitch-and-flip corners, and piece the template-cut shapes where the instructions specify them.
- Join the sections into their larger rows and assemblies, then connect them into the quilt center. Attach the outer border and sew its four mitered corners.
- Prepare the binding and layer the top with batting and backing. Baste, quilt, trim the excess layers, and attach the binding, finishing its folded edge by hand.
