Name Wall-hanging Free Pattern by Casey York - Free Quilt Pattern
Name Wall-hanging combines fabric alphabet letters with appliqued flowers, leaves and straight stems. Casey York's Petite Fleur project is shown at 41 by 32 inches, with dimensions that can vary according to the chosen name. The letters come from an alphabet panel, and the flower templates can be cut from several prints. Machine stitching secures the appliques, with an optional hand-embroidered chain stitch at their edges. Corner pockets on the back hold a wooden hanging dowel.

- Prepare the background for the chosen name. Trace and fuse the flower and leaf templates, cut the shapes and make the straight fabric strips used for stems.
- Trace fusible-web rectangles for the required letters, align them with the alphabet panel and cut out the letter appliques. Arrange the letters, flowers, stems and leaves on the background.
- Fuse the letter, flower and leaf shapes, removing pins before ironing. Stitch around the appliques using one of the listed stitch choices, adding optional hand-embroidered chain stitch if desired.
- Layer, baste and quilt the hanging. Attach folded corner pockets at the upper back before binding, then insert the wooden dowel cut one inch shorter than the finished hanging's width.
