Opposites Attract Free Quilt Pattern by Wendy Sheppard
Opposites Attract combines a black background with light and dark prints from The Opposite by Marcia Derse. Wendy Sheppard designed the quilt to finish at 67 by 91 inches. Its blocks begin with half-square triangles and gain additional corner triangles before four units are rotated together. Five blocks across and seven rows down create the rectangular center, which is enclosed by a plain black border and matching binding.

- Cut the paired squares, corner squares and outer-border strips, keeping each print with its fabric letter. Mark the diagonal sewing guides on the designated squares.
- Sew the paired squares on both sides of the marked diagonal, cut them apart and press the half-square triangles. Add the small squares at opposite corners to form the diagonal units.
- Rotate four matching diagonal units into each block and sew the blocks together. Arrange the center in seven rows of five blocks, following the diagram for their positions.
- Attach the black outer-border strips to the sides and ends. Layer, baste and quilt the sandwich, then finish with the Fabric A binding.
