Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Out of This World places a Space Explorer panel inside a pieced flying-geese frame. Lisa Swenson Ruble designed the 54 by 60 inch quilt with fabrics from the Space Explorer collection by Whistler Studios and a Spectrum accent. A narrow border separates the central panel from the outer flying-geese sections. Different-length background strips extend those sections around the quilt, and the same accent fabric is used for the inner border and binding.

Out of This World Free Quilt Pattern by Lisa Swenson Ruble quilt pattern summary

  1. Trim the panel to the specified dimensions and cut the border strips and rectangles. Mark the diagonal lines on the squares for the flying-geese corners.
  2. Sew marked squares to opposite ends of each print rectangle, trimming and pressing after each seam. Make twenty-six flying-geese units.
  3. Add the narrow border around the panel. Join seven flying geese for each side border and six for each top and bottom border, adding the specified background pieces before attaching them.
  4. Layer the top, batting and backing, baste, and quilt as desired. Bind with the prepared Fabric E strips.
