Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Spellbound places framed print squares alongside blocks built from half-square triangles and cornered rectangles. Wendy Sheppard designed this intermediate quilt for the Serendipity collection, using fat quarters for many of its block fabrics. Narrow sashing and small corner squares separate the five rows of blocks, while four successive borders surround the center. The quilt is stated as 71 inches square, with a blue binding drawn from one of the piecing fabrics.

Spellbound Free Quilt Pattern by Wendy Sheppard quilt pattern summary

  1. Frame the large print squares with narrow strips, then add the pieced side, top and bottom units to make the first block type.
  2. Piece the second block centers from squares and cornered rectangles. Make half-square triangles and combine them with the remaining squares around those centers.
  3. Arrange the two block types in five rows, separating blocks and rows with sashing and corner squares. Add the four borders in their specified order.
  4. Layer the finished top with batting and backing, baste and quilt as desired. Join the Fabric N strips and bind the quilt.
