Tabby Mountain Free Quilt Pattern by Tula Pink
Tabby Mountain sets printed center triangles between pairs of solid side triangles. Eight rows repeat this construction, changing the background color and reversing the block direction from one row to the next. Tabby Road fabrics provide the featured prints across the 60 x 80-inch quilt. The advanced beginner project includes center and side templates, plus cutting guidance for quilters who want directional motifs to remain upright within the alternating rows.

Tabby Mountain Free Quilt Pattern by Tula Pink quilt pattern summary
- Print and measure the center and side triangle templates. Cut the print and solid triangles, following the optional directional-print quantities and labeling the fabric groups.
- Sew matching side and reversed-side triangles to each printed center triangle. Make twelve blocks for each row, checking the motif direction as the block orientation changes.
- Arrange eight rows of twelve blocks using the layout’s background colors. Join the blocks in each row, then sew the rows together to form the top.
- Prepare the bias binding and the backing, then layer with the batting and top. Baste, quilt, trim the edges, and attach the binding around the quilt.
