Tea Time (Jardin de Provence) Free Pattern by Sue Pickering & Jean Katherine Smith - Free Quilt Pattern
Tea Time pairs a 55-inch-square table topper with four 12-inch-square tea napkins in Jardin de Provence fabrics. Sue Pickering and Jean Katherine Smith build the topper around a fussy-cut center square and pieced star points. Half-square-triangle units, several surrounding borders and corner posts extend the design outward. The coordinating napkins have word-print centers and contrasting borders, with turned edges and topstitching. Both projects are included together, with separate assembly directions for the topper and napkins.

- Fussy cut the center and word-print pieces, then prepare the border pieces. Make the half-square-triangle units and center star-point units.
- Assemble the center star around its square. Add the first three pieced borders, then the narrow fourth border and outer border with corner posts.
- Layer the table topper, quilt and bind as desired.
- Sew the short and long borders to each napkin center. Stitch to the backing with an opening, trim the corners, turn and press; close the opening, topstitch and stitch along the center-border seam.
