Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Window Sill at Dawn frames paired fabric squares and triangles with two successive pieced borders inside each block. Lucy A. Fazely designed the advanced-beginner quilt with French Farmhouse fabrics by Lillian August and coordinating Tonal Strawberry Thief prints. Small half-square-triangle units connect the framing strips at opposite corners. Nine fourteen-inch finished blocks are arranged in three rows, and a single outer border completes the forty-five-inch-square quilt inspired by an early-morning farmhouse view.

Window Sill at Dawn Free Quilt Pattern by Lucy A. Fazely quilt pattern summary

  1. Cut the print squares, framing strips and border pieces. Mark and sew the small paired squares to make the two groups of half-square-triangle corner units.
  2. Join the larger triangles into paired units and combine them with print squares for each center. Add the two rounds of framing strips and small corner units to complete nine blocks.
  3. Arrange the blocks in three rows and join them. Add the side borders first, then the top and bottom borders, matching ends and centers.
  4. Join the binding strips, layer and quilt the top, and trim the extra layers. Attach the binding with mitered corners and hand stitch it to the back.
