Zen Garden Free Quilt Pattern by Natalie Crabtree
Zen Garden combines two curved block designs with white sashing in a 66.25 inch square quilt. Natalie Crabtree designed the project for Field Day by Kelly Ventura, adding Palette accents to the collection prints. Each block design is made in three fabric combinations, and the layout rotates the blocks before they are joined. Small Herb cornerstones connect the horizontal sashing strips, while a Sycamore print provides the binding around the completed top.

Zen Garden Free Quilt Pattern by Natalie Crabtree quilt pattern summary
- Print the templates at 100 percent and join the sections that span more than one sheet. Cut and label the shapes, sashing strips and cornerstones by fabric letter.
- Mark the curved-edge centers and seam points, then pin the shapes together at those marks. Sew the two-piece Block A designs slowly, keeping the curved edges aligned.
- Sew the three template pieces for each Block B, following the fabric combinations in the diagrams. Arrange both block types in the quilt layout and join the horizontal block rows with vertical sashing.
- Make the horizontal sashing rows with Herb cornerstones and join them between the block rows. Layer, baste and quilt the top, then bind with Fabric K.
